How to Troubleshoot Common Issues with Michigan Virtual's Professional Learning Portal Badges

Michigan Virtual's Professional Learning Portal provides micro-credential learning experiences and issues digital badges to learners who successfully complete them via the Badgr platform developed by Concentric Sky. However, learners may encounter issues while claiming their badges or managing their Badgr accounts. In this article, we will address some common issues and provide solutions for them.

I have been awarded a badge, but lost the email. What should I do now?
If you have lost the email containing the badge, don't worry! You don't need the email to access your badge. Simply log in to your Badgr.io account and provide your account information to access your backpack. The badge will have been added automatically. If you don't have a Badgr.io account yet, refer to the Create Badgr Account page to learn how to set up your account.

My email address has changed. What should I do now?
If you have changed your email address, use your old email address to log in to your Badgr account. Then, add your new email address by clicking on "Account" in the menu bar and selecting "Profile." After adding your new contact information, you will receive an email to your newly added email account to verify your new email address. After following the instructions in that email, feel free to switch your primary email address to your new contact information. Note: To ensure that your previously awarded badges can be verified, we recommend keeping your previous email address listed on your account. To avoid losing access to your account, add a private email address or social network account to your Badgr account.

I have been awarded a badge, but it does not show up in my Badgr backpack. What can I do to fix that?
If your badge does not appear in your backpack, it is likely because the badge has been awarded to an email address that is not yet connected to your Badgr account. Refer to the Check Verified Email Addresses page learn how to verify and mitigate the issue.

A badge suddenly vanished from my Badgr backpack. What happened?
If your badge has been revoked by the issuer, it will no longer be displayed in your backpack. If you believe the revocation was a mistake, please contact our Customer Care Center.

I have not accepted my pathway invitation and can't find the email anymore. What can I do now?
If you have not accepted your pathway invitation and have lost the email, visit Badgr.io and log in with your regular Badgr account credentials. Then click on "Apps" in the menu bar and tap "Pathways." If you have not yet allowed Badgr Pathways access to your Badgr account (step 4 in Badgr Pathways learner path), you'll have to confirm that. Under "My Pathways," you'll see a listing of all pathways you are subscribed to.

Conclusion

We hope this article has helped you troubleshoot common issues related to claiming and managing your badges on the PLP. By following the steps provided, you can easily access your badges and manage your Badgr account.
