Active Course Notifications


Control how you receive notifications about activity in your Professional Learning Portal (PLP) courses. You can receive a periodic summary of activity, or receive instant notifications as things happen by following the steps outlined below.

Note: This excludes ed2go courses.


  1. First, launch a course from your PLP Dashboard.
  2. Next, tap your name from the top right corner to display a menu and then select Notifications.
    The username drop-down menu is shown with the available selections shown (profile, my portfolio, notifications, progress and log out). Arrows point to the username area and to the Notifications option.
  3. At this point, you can adjust the Notifications settings within each section as indicated below.
  4. When finished, tap the Save button at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.

Contact Methods

The Contact Methods section can be utilized to setup your mobile device for PLP notifications. If you would like to receive mobile updates, tap Register your mobile. You will be prompted for your Country, Carrier and Phone Number.

Note: If you have changed your email address, retired or left a district and need to update your email, please refer to the Email Address Changed process. All other settings in Contact Method should not be modified.

Summary of Activity

A digest of course activity can be emailed to you if you choose. This email will contain a news blurb or summary of each of your active courses in the PLP. By default, new users will receive weekly notifications (sent 12:00 AM Monday's). If you wish to change the frequency or deactivate these email notifications tap the How often? drop-down field and select the desired option.

Instant Notifications

Instant notifications are notifications that are instantly received on your smartphone, tablet or computer. These notifications allow you to access information quicker. From this area, you can select/check either SMS and/or Email from the list of interested activity notifications within the PLP.
The Instant Notifications section is shown with an arrow pointing to the SMS and Email checkboxes located next to each statement.Note: By default, Assignments - assignment feedback released and Assignments - assignment feedback updated notifications are set to email for new users. If notifications are turned off, you will not be emailed when your instructor has graded your assignments.

Customize Notifications

If you would like to include your current grade value within these notifications and/or allow future courses to send you notifications the Customize Notifications section has two checkboxes to enable these settings.

Exclude Some Courses

If you want to receive notifications from only specific courses you can tap Manage my course exclusions from the Exclude Some Courses section.
