About
Some courses, such as those provided by FlexPoint/FLVS/Florida Virtual, use secure and personalized sessions to display course materials. If students see a "403 Error – Invalid Session" message instead of their course content, this usually means the browser settings need to be adjusted. The steps below explain how students can fix this issue.
Instruction
1. Check Cookie Settings
FlexPoint/FLVS/Florida Virtual content requires third-party cookies to be enabled.
- In Chrome: Go to browser settings and make sure "Allow all cookies" is selected. Avoid using “Block all third-party cookies,” even in incognito mode.
- In Safari: Open Safari settings and uncheck “Block all cookies.”
2. Turn Off Cross-Site Tracking/Do Not Track Settings
Some privacy settings may prevent course content from loading properly. In Chrome and Safari: Locate the settings for cross-site tracking or Do Not Track, and turn these options off.
3. Allow Cookies for “flvsgl.com”
Students should ensure that cookies are allowed for the domain flvsgl.com, which is used to serve course content. This option can be added under site settings or privacy settings in both Chrome and Safari.
4. Avoid Using Bookmarked Links
If students have saved or bookmarked a content page URL, it may not work properly. Because course materials are part of a secure session:
- Log in through the Student Learning Portal and reopen the course content from the original course interface.
- Do not access course pages through a saved or copied URL.
5. Use Google Chrome (Recommended)
If students are using a different browser, it is recommended to switch to Google Chrome, which provides the best performance for Buzz and FlexPoint/FLVS content.
- Make sure Chrome is fully updated before using it.
- Repeat steps 1 through 3 in Chrome if a different browser was used previously.
