District Reporting: Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Troubleshooting

Intended Audience: Districting Reporting (REP) Users

About

District representatives accessing the Michigan Virtual Student Learning Portal (SLP) to obtain REP Reports will be required to authenticate through a secure login. The creation of this account and steps to activate MFA can be found with the MFA Configuration and Login article.

If district representatives have worked through the document above and accessing their account is still proving difficult, they can follow the instructions below to assist with an MFA Reset.

Instruction

This process will reset the QR Code that has been set up for their account, and the MFA setup process will need to be completed again.

One helpful step is starting over by resetting and re-activating the MFA credentials. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. First, clear the cache on the browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) being used to log into the Student Learning Portal (SLP).
  2. Second, from their mobile device, remove any existing MFA (Google Authenticator, DUO Security, 1Password) accounts for the Student Learning Portal (SLP).
  3. Submit a Customer Care ticket. Our Customer Care team will confirm they have successfully completed the two steps above and then work to reset their MFA credentials.

Once the reset is complete, follow the MFA Configuration and Login instructions to set up MFA credentials again.
