PLP: Register for Course

Intended Audience: Professional Learners/Educators, MiRegistry Members

About

Learners with a Professional Learning Portal (PLP) account can opt to register for a course. This guide explains the registration process after logging into their PLP account. 

Learners must be logged into their account to register for a course. In the event a learner has not logged in, refer to the Login article. If a learner has not yet created an account, refer to the Create An Account article.

Instruction

  1. First, tap Register for Course from the left navigation menu.
  2. Next, locate a course of interest. As a learner acts, the results will promptly populate in the area below the filters. 
    1. Search: Insert a keyword in the search box and tap the Find Course button (for example: Bloodborne Pathogens, Differentiated Instruction, PTL, etc.).
    2. Filter: Choose relevant options from the search filters (for example: Approved Courses by School/District).
      The Register for Course page is shown displaying both options to search and filter. After identifying a course of interest, learners can click the "Info" link in the lower-left corner of the course tile to access additional information in a pop-up window. Learners may then tap the Register button at the bottom of the window and proceed to step 4 or tap Close to exit the window and continue searching. 
  3. At this point, learners may tap the Register button on the bottom-right corner of a course tile.
    Note: Learners may register for multiple courses before proceeding to the next step.
  4. Next, tap the "Proceed to Checkout" link on the top-right side of the page.
    The Register for Course page shows a pop-up window "Course added to cart!" An arrow points to the Proceed to Checkout link.  
  5. At this stage, learners will be prompted to confirm their selection(s): 
    • If the amount listed in the Price column is "$0.00" for a course (indicating it's free), learners must tap the Confirm button.
    • For any course with a fee (Price column greater than $0.00), learners must purchase the course by entering the necessary credit card information. Once the details are provided, learners can proceed by tapping the Make Payment button.
    • If learners wish to remove a course from their cart for any reason, they can easily do so by clicking the Remove button in the far right column.
  6. After confirming your registration, click the Go to Dashboard button to access your course(s).
