About
Brightspace users have the ability to customize their learning environment by adjusting account settings. These settings allow students, mentors, instructors, and affiliation users to personalize display preferences, manage notification options, adjust time zones, update email addresses, and more.
Instruction
- Select the profile picture located on the Brightspace minibar.
- From the dropdown, choose Account Settings. The Account Settings page will open, displaying various customization options.
- Within the Account Settings tab, users can adjust the following:
- Pronouns: Enable optional pronoun display, such as She/Her, He/Him, or They/Them.
- Font Settings: Change text size to Small, Medium, Large, or Huge. A sample preview updates as different options are selected.
- Reading Content: Choose whether items are automatically marked as read while scrolling.
- Video Settings: Enable settings to assist with video detection by assistive technologies.
- Locale & Language: Set the preferred language and locale, adjust number and date formats, and select the first day of the week.
- Time Zone: Choose the appropriate continent and time zone.
- Signing In: Set the preferred online status visibility to others.
- Within the Discussions tab, users can update:
- Display Settings: Choose whether the Discussions List pane is shown or hidden by default.
- Reply Settings: Choose whether to automatically include the original post when replying to discussion threads.
- After making all desired adjustments, select the Save and Close button to apply changes and return to the Brightspace homepage.
