Introduction:
If a student is taking a course with Michigan Virtual, chances are they are utilizing the Brightspace Learning Management System (LMS). To help students begin their course, the following information provides a concise summary. If you need more guidance, you can check out the Brightspace Student Navigation article for further details.
Details:
- First, select the course tile from the Brightspace landing page.
- Next, select Start Here from the right side navigation menu.
- If you have NOT completed the New Student Orientation, you will not be able to start the units within your course. Tap the Get Started or Launch Unit button to begin.
- If you have completed the New Student Orientation, you will be able to begin navigating through each unit of the course. When you return to the course to complete activities you will have multiple options to pick up where you left off. Tap the Continue, Launch Unit or Launch Lesson buttons to proceed with your completing your course activities.
- If you have NOT completed the New Student Orientation, you will not be able to start the units within your course. Tap the Get Started or Launch Unit button to begin.
- As you navigate to each activity, a check mark will be placed next to the left menu options to help you identify where you have been.
