About

The Grade Reports Dashboard in Brightspace provides mentors with comprehensive insight into student performance. This includes detailed information such as assignment names, point values, earned scores, and grading status. The dashboard helps mentors monitor progress and support students by making informed decisions based on real-time academic data.

This guide explains how a mentor can locate the dashboard, apply filters by term, course, or student, and interact with the gradebook data effectively.

Filtering the Gradebook Reports Dashboard

Mentors can refine the grade data by applying filters for Term, Course, or Student. The filtered results will be shown in two main cards at the bottom of the page: "PR - M - Full Gradebooks - Simplified v2" and "PR - M - Full Gradebooks - Detailed v2."

  • Filter by Term: Locate the "PR - M - Semester Filter v2b" card (top left). Check the box next to the desired term. Tap Apply to refresh the dashboard and display data from the selected term.
  • Filter by Course: Locate the "PR - M - Course Filter v2b" card (top center). Click the Courses dropdown and select the term. Check the box next to the course name. Click Apply to update the dashboard with the selected course(s).
  • Filter by Student: Locate the "PR - M - Enrolled Students Filter v2b" card (top center). Open the Learners dropdown and select the relevant term. Check the box next to the student's name. Click Apply to filter the dashboard to show only data for the selected student(s).

Interacting with Gradebook Cards

After filtering by term, course, or student, mentors can use the gradebook cards to review details and drill into specific data points.

  1. Simplified Gradebook Card: The PR - M - Full Gradebooks - Simplified v2 card provides an overview of assignments and grades. To see more detailed information for a specific item, click the assignment name under the GradeItemName column. The corresponding details will appear in the PR - M - Full Gradebooks - Detailed v2 card.
  2. Filtering by Point Values: To view items based on score values, click on any number under the PointsEarned or MaxPoints column. The Detailed Gradebook card will refresh to show results filtered by the selected point value.
