MiCourses: Content Provider Public Searches

Intended Audience: Content Vendors

Districts can generate course offerings by providing details such as the content provider, online instructor, cost, terms (start/end dates), and other relevant information, associating it with the vendor course. The course becomes searchable in Michigan's Online Course Catalog only upon the creation of this offering. Subsequently, syllabi from third-party content providers can be accessed through public searches.

It is important to emphasize that the system does not retain the actual course content, and students are not mandated to log in or access it through this platform.

To find specific offerings, the public can use the Content Provider filter under additional search options.

  1. First, expand +additional search options from the home page.
  2. Next, select the Content Provider drop-down field and select the appropriate option.
Please be aware that recently registered Content Providers may not appear as an option until a district has created a course offering for their respective courses.
  3. At this point, tap the Search Courses button to view the results.
A screen capture of Michigan's Online Course Catalog is shown with three arrows pointing to additional search options, content provider and to the Search Courses button.
  4. Once a subject title is expanded, the public will select View Details to view the course syllabus information.
The Search Results page is shown with an arrow pointing to a courses View Details button.
  5. Within the details page, the description, enrollment information and other important details will be displayed as they are entered within the Course Administration site.
The Details page shows the Additional Course Information section at the bottom of the page with an arrow pointing to the Current Offerings.
