Intended Audience: Content Vendors
About
In accordance with Section 21f of the State School Act, Content Vendors (third-party providers) are prohibited from creating course offerings for their proprietary online courses through Michigan's Online Course Catalog. Instead, they will assume the role of creating and managing course syllabi along with their respective reviews within the Course Administration site. Following this, they will enable public school districts to create course offerings for their district.
Instruction
Before a course becomes searchable in Michigan’s Online Course Catalog, the following prerequisites must be fulfilled in order:
Create and/or manage vendor courses by providing details such as course title, standards, SCED Information, prerequisites, outlines, required assessments, and more.
All syllabi available in the catalog must be reviewed to ensure quality and consistency. This action will make the course visible to district personnel who are logged into the Course Administration website.
Enable course settings to allow the ability for district personnel to import vendor courses.
Third-party courses can be imported only when a district (Catalog Manager) obtains a "Vendor Code" from a Content Vendor. Content Vendors will set this code during the registration process and are responsible for distributing the code to their partnering districts. |
