Additional Course Costs

Intended Audience: Guardians, Affiliation Users


While the course cost usually covers most of the materials required, certain courses, such as English Language Arts, may necessitate novels or other supplementary materials. The following procedure outlines how to identify any extra expenses associated with the course. 


  1. Begin by searching the Michigan Virtual student Course Catalog.
  2. Use the filters on the left-hand side to narrow your search results and display courses that match your interests.
  3. Once you have located the desired course, click on the course title.The Michigan Virtual Courses for Students page is shown with filtered results. The American Literature A course is shown with the description. An arrow points to the course title.
  4. From there, click on the View Syllabus button.
    The American Literature Course details page is shown. On the top right corner there are three buttons, get started, view syllabus and alignment document. An arrow points to the View Syllabus button.
  5. A new window will open displaying the course details. Scroll down the page to find the "Additional Costs" section.
    The Course Syllabus page has been captured as the user scrolls down to the Additional Costs section. An arrow is pointing to this section and shows 3 books required for this course.
