About
In order to ensure quality and consistency, all course syllabi available in Michigan's Online Course Catalog must undergo a review. The following process outlines the steps for adding course syllabi review information to the catalog.
The National Standards for Quality Online Learning (NSQOL), overseen by the Virtual Learning Leadership Alliance (VLLA), Quality Matters (QM), and the Digital Learning Collaborative (DLC) provide research-based best practices for online teaching, online programs, and online course design. The standards provide a useful benchmark for evaluating the quality of online courses and provide guidance on indicators of quality online programs.
Instruction
- First, tap the icon (red X within red circle) appearing to the right in the "Reviewed" column of the Courses page.
- Next, tap the Create Review button to select either:
- Now, apply a rating and, if applicable, comment to each standard on this page. Please note that the first Rating drop-down field will apply the same rating to all standards.
- Finally, select the appropriate options in the Reviewed By and Date Of Review fields and then tap the Submit button to save your changes. If your review was conducted by an organization not listed in the drop-down menu, please contact our MiCourses team.
