MiCourses: Add Terms

Intended Audience: Catalog Managers

About

Each academic institution operates according to an academic calendar, with terms marking the beginning and end of each session of classes. Catalog Managers can define terms within Michigan's Online Course Catalog, which will be shown in the course syllabi.

Instruction

  1. First, tap the Terms option from the top navigation menu.
  2. Next, tap New Term from the right side of the page.
  3. When the New Term page shows, insert the a unique term name in the Name field. For example: "24-25 Fall Semester."
  4. Continue to populate the appropriate information and note that as of 11/20/2024 the fields "School Year", "Season", and "Term Type" are now required in order to save the Term. 
  5. When the information has been populated, tap the Save button at the bottom of the page.
    Note that the following fields are visible to the public: Term Type, Course Start At, Enrollment Open At, Enrollment End At, Random Draw At, and Drop Date At.
  6. Repeat steps 1-4 until all terms have been added. All created terms will be shown on the Terms page in a table. To apply changes to the item, tap the Edit button.
