About
The Course Overview Widget is designed to simplify access to analytics related to learners and courses. It is located on the Class Homepage and displays high-level summary information about the course, along with links to course-specific Brightspace Insights reports. One example is a visualization of weekly course access, presented as a bar chart via the Course Access report. The widget can also display the number of learners who submitted quizzes on a particular day. Additionally, it offers quick links to the Class Engagement tool, and Course Access and Tool Access reports.

Class Engagement
To locate students who have not accessed your course in the past 7 days, first click on the number displayed in the "students have not visited this course in the past 7 days" box. This will filter the table below to show only those with "Course not accessed" in the "Last visited" column.
To locate students within a specific percentage range, first click on the appropriate Grade Distribution column in the second widget at the top of the page. This will update the table below to show the students within that range. You can sort the data by clicking on each column, either alphabetically or numerically.
If you are looking for a specific student, you can use the search function by entering their name in the search field and pressing the Enter key to locate them. The Course Overview Widget also includes links to the Class Engagement tool, as well as the Course Access and Tool Access reports.
Course Access
To identify the number of students who accessed your course, start by entering a date range in the Start Date and End Date fields located on the right side of the page. Then, uncheck the "All Roles" box and select only students enrolled in your course. It is important to note that the chart will automatically update as you make changes. If you wish to create an Excel file of the data you are seeing, simply click the "Export to XLSX" or "Export to CSV" option to generate an MS Excel Worksheet with the desired information.
Tool Access
Until further notice, the Tools Access information has been disabled as it was found to be unhelpful for instructors.
