Brightspace CI: Builder First Time Setup

To ensure a smooth experience with the Insights Report Builder, Collaborative Instructors accessing it for the first time are recommended to complete the welcome tour and customize their menu options. Follow the steps below to achieve this. Once completed, return to the Data and Insights page.

Instruction

1. First, tap Data and Insights from the top menu and then select Insights Portal from the drop-down.
   
2. Directly beneath the "Insights Portal" title, tap the Analytics Builder tab. Then, scroll down to select Insights Report Builder.
   
3. At this point, a new browser window will open. Upon accessing the Insights Report Builder, you may encounter several pop-up messages. It is recommended to set up your profile, and complete the Welcome Tour.
   1. Profile Setup: Complete the prompt for the Instructor profile and then select FINISH to apply these settings.
   2. Welcome Tour: To complete the tour tap the CONTINUE button to review the content on each slide and then tap the DONE button to exit.
4. It is highly recommended that instructors adjust their dashboard view to remove Quick Start Courses. To do this:
   1. First, hover over the menu icon (three horizontal lines) located at the top left corner of the page and then select the Manage Dashboards option.
      
   2. At this point, locate the Quick Start Courses option and hover over it to reveal the "show" (eye) icon. 
   3. Next, select the icon to remove the dashboard view. The name will appear in light gray font, indicating that it has been hidden. Tap the DONE button to apply this change.
      
   4. As a result, the left menu will update to display Instructor Dashboards.
