Change Multiple Students to Alumni Status

Intended Audience: Affiliation User

About

When students graduate or leave a school, affiliation users must update their profiles to an inactive status in the Student Learning Portal (SLP). This ensures that former students are removed from active student data and prevents future course enrollments.

Important: It is important to note that student profiles should never be deleted, as historical course information may be needed later. This guide explains how affiliation users can update the status of multiple students at once. For instructions on updating a single student, refer to the Change Single Student to Alumni Status article.

Instruction

  1. From the top menu bar, tap the Students tab.
  2. In the left navigation menu, select Bulk Status.
  3. In the Search Criteria section, set the Currently Enrolled dropdown field to "No". Students who are currently enrolled in a course cannot have their status changed until course completion.
  4. Apply additional filters if needed (e.g., use the Grade Level filter to select 12th-grade students).
  5. Tap the Get Data button to generate a list of students matching the selected criteria.
  6. Place a checkmark in the "Select" column for each student who should be updated.
  7. Tap the Bulk Status button at the bottom of the page.
  8. In the pop-up window, select ALUMNI from the Status dropdown menu.
Note: The BLOCKED status should only be used for students who must be permanently restricted from enrolling in any future courses.
  9. Tap the Save button to apply the updates. The selected students' statuses will now reflect "Alumni."
