Certificates of Completion (K-12 Students)

Intended Audience: Students, Guardians

Introduction:

Upon the completion of the term, the Michigan Virtual Student Learning Portal (SLP) will automatically generate a certificate of completion that includes the percentage score, course name, and instructor(s). It is important to note that Michigan Virtual will not be responsible for distributing the certificate or a formal transcript to the student's local school. However, guardians or students may choose to provide the certificate to the local school themselves. It will then be the local school's responsibility to assign a letter grade to the student's transcript as they see fit. Please be aware that mentors are not able to print certificates on behalf of the students. To print or save the certificate, students must access their SLP dashboard. This process is useful in case the school requests a copy of the certificate.

Details:

  1. First, log in to the Student Learning Portal (SLP) to view the "Certificates of Completion" module within the Dashboard.
  2. Next, locate the course of interest and tap the course name.
The SLP Dashboard is shown showing announcements, current enrollments and certificates of completion modules. An arrow points to a course name within the Certificates of Completion module.
  3. At this time, the PDF file containing the certificate will open.
  4. To obtain a copy of the certificate, simply hover over the top right corner of the page and select either the download or print icons. In the case of downloading or saving the certificate, the student should select the preferred folder for saving the file and then click on the Save button. If choosing to print the certificate, any necessary print settings should be adjusted before selecting the Print button.A PDF preview of the certificate of completion is shown. An arrow points to the download and print icons.
