Intended Audience: Mentors, Affiliation Users
Introduction:
This process describes the necessary steps to remove a user from their course within the Student Learning Portal (SLP) in the event of their sudden death. If a student passes away, Michigan Virtual will take the following actions: (1) Update the student's SLP profile to indicate alumni status and remove any relationships with parents or mentors. (2) Drop the student's enrollment in active courses or record a final score if they had a passing grade. (3) Notify Michigan Virtual instructors and staff. (4) Provide a Certificate of Completion to the parent upon request. If a School Admin/Mentor or Parent Admin passes away, Michigan Virtual will take the following actions: (1) Remove the email addresses, Parent/Student Relationships, and entity associations from the Mentor's or Parent's SLP profile. (2) Notify Michigan Virtual instructors and staff. (3) Assign new mentors to current enrollments if requested.
