View Student Course Pacing Guides as a Mentor

Intended Audience: Mentors

About

The Course Pacing Guides – Mentor widget provides mentors with access to pacing guides for active student enrollments in both Flex and Essential courses. These pacing guides outline which assignments should be completed each week, based on the student’s specific start and end dates.

Instruction

1. Log in to the Student Learning Portal (SLP)

  • Once logged in, the Course Pacing Guides – Mentor widget will appear on the Mentor Dashboard.
  • If the widget is not visible:
    • Confirm that the "Mentor" role is selected if multiple roles are associated with the account.
    • Alternatively, customize the dashboard to add the widget manually.

2. Open a Course Pacing Guide

  • Within the widget, locate the student’s course and select the linked course title in the “Pacing Guide” column.

Example: A course such as Health Education will appear as a clickable link in the widget.

The dashboard page is displayed showing the Notifications and Course Pacing Guides - Mentor widget. An arrow points to the linked course Algebra 1A in the Pacing Guide column.

3. View Weekly Assignments

  • A new browser tab will open showing the pacing guide for the selected course.
  • The current week number will be automatically highlighted.
  • Assignments due that week—both graded and ungraded—will be listed.

4. Navigate or Print the Pacing Guide

Mentors may choose to:

  • Click through each week tab to view assignments for specific weeks.
  • Select the “Print all weeks” button to generate a printable version of the complete pacing guide.

The Course Pacing Guide page is shown for the Algebra 1A course and defaults to the Week 9 tab which an arrow is pointing to. Another arrow points to the Print all weeks button in the top right corner.

5. Close the Pacing Guide

  • To exit the pacing guide, click the "X" in the tab window to return to the main dashboard.
