Access Learning Management Systems

Intended Audience: Mentors, Affiliation Users

About

This guide explains how a mentor or affiliation user can access the appropriate Learning Management System (LMS) for a course through the Student Learning Portal (SLP). Michigan Virtual courses may be hosted in different LMS platforms, and access is provided directly from within the SLP.

Instruction

  1. After logging into the Student Learning Portal, the mentor or affiliation user should select the MySLP tab from the top menu.
  2. Within the MySLP page, choose the Go to Courses option in the left-hand navigation menu.
  3. A table will appear showing three columns: Go to Courses, Name, and LMS Type.
  4. To access the course, locate the appropriate row and select the computer screen icon in the Go to Courses column.
The Go To LMS page is shown. Arrows point to the Go to LMS option in the left menu as well as the computer screen icon in the Go to LMS column.
  5. A new browser window will open, automatically logging the mentor or affiliation user into the correct LMS platform. No additional login is required.

Once inside the LMS, the mentor or affiliation user will be able to view student activity, course structure, assignments, and other relevant information, depending on the role and system permissions.
