Intended Audience: Students, Guardians
Introduction:
The role of a Mentor can vary depending on who enrolled the student, and may include a local teacher, counselor, librarian or even a parent. Mentors work collaboratively with students to track their progress and provide support as required. Their contribution is critical to the success of each student as they help break down barriers that may impede them from achieving their goals. This guide outlines the process for locating the course mentor in the Student Learning Portal (SLP).
Please note that schools that enroll students in courses appoint a mentor to serve as the local point of contact between the online instructor, student and guardians. Guardians who enroll students are expected to act as a mentor for their student. For additional information, guardians may refer to the Mentor Fundamentals: A Guide for Mentoring Online Learners.
Details:
- First, select Mentor Information from the left navigation menu.
- At this point, the Mentor Information page will be displayed.
- Finally, each mentor will have their own contact card. To view another mentor card, tap the orange navigation (left, right) buttons in the upper right corner of the page.
Please be advised that for enrollments purchased by a guardian, Mentor contact information will not be visible. In such cases, the guardian will act as the Mentor for the course.
