Locate Mentor Contact Information

Intended Audience: Students, Guardians

About

In the Student Learning Portal (SLP), a mentor is a designated support person who helps students stay on track and succeed in their online courses. The mentor may be a local teacher, school counselor, librarian, or even a parent—depending on who enrolled the student. Mentors play a key role in providing guidance, monitoring progress, and helping remove barriers to academic success. This guide explains how students and guardians can locate a student's assigned mentor within the Student Learning Portal.

Note: When a school enrolls a student, a school-assigned mentor is visible in the SLP and serves as the main point of contact between the online instructor, the student, and their guardians. If a guardian enrolls a student independently, the guardian is expected to act as the student’s mentor and the mentor contact information will not appear in the system.

Instruction

Once logged in to the Student Learning Portal, students and guardians should select Mentor Information from the left-hand navigation menu.
The screen will display the Mentor Information page, including contact details for the assigned mentor. Each mentor is shown in a contact card format. To view multiple mentor cards (if applicable), use the navigation arrows located in the upper-right corner of the page.

Additional Information

If a student was enrolled directly by a guardian, mentor details will not appear on the page. In this case, the guardian serves as the student’s mentor for the course. For more details about the mentor role, students and guardians may refer to the resource titled Mentor Fundamentals: A Guide for Mentoring Online Learners.
