Reset a Student’s Password

Intended Audience: Mentors, Affiliation Users

This article provides steps for mentors and affiliation users to reset a student's password if the student is unable to access the Student Learning Portal (SLP) due to forgotten login credentials.

Instruction

  1. In the top menu bar of the SLP, select the Students tab.
  2. In the list of active students, find the student and select the linked name in the "Student" column.
  3. The student’s Main Page will display, showing sections of information about the selected student.
  4. In the "Basic Information" section, tap the Reset Password button. After tapping Reset Password, a confirmation message will appear indicating that the password has been successfully reset.
  5. The new password will be shown within parentheses in the confirmation message.
  6. Tap the Sync with LMS button to ensure the student’s new password is updated across systems. Resetting and syncing the password ensures that students can log in seamlessly without delays.
  7. The new password will be automatically emailed to the student. Mentors or affiliation users may also provide the password directly to the student if necessary.
